A Broker Associate and Co-Owner of Kurgan-Bergen, Inc., Gene has over 30 years of Real Estate experience in Bergen County and New Jersey. In 1978, he joined forces with business partner Peter M. Garabedian to purchase the firm from its original owner, Fred P. Kurgan. For almost three decades, Gene and Peter have worked side by side to serve their clientele. Today, Kurgan-Bergen Realtors is a leader in residential sales and rentals in the South Bergen Area.

Dedicated to promoting professionalism in the Real Estate Industry, Gene participates on several key committees for the Meadowlands Board of Realtors, from Budget/Finance, Ethics/Arbitration. He continually serves as Chairman for the Dinner Dance and By Laws Committees. He is a Notary Public for the State of New Jersey and currently is a Director of the Meadowland Board of Realtors. He was President and recipient of The Realtor of the Year 2006 for the MBOR, a past President and Treasurer of the Meadowlands Multiple Listing Service as well as a past Director of the New Jersey Multiple Listing Service.

Gene earned a B. S. degree in Accounting from the University of Bridgeport. Gene has been happily married to Janet for over 35 glorious years and has two sons, Daniel and Gregory. His personal interests include many outdoor activities and he is most proud of his involvement with the Boy Scouts of America. For the past 17 years he has been an active Troop Committee Member of Troop 308 in Bergen County. Gene’s positive attitude is a driving force at Kurgan-Bergen, Realtors. He is always available to assist the Sales Associates with any aspect of the selling process, from initial listing, up to and including the final sale.
