Jamie (Brodsky) grew up in South Orange, New Jersey and graduated from Columbia High School.  She went on to the University of Maryland where she earned her degree in Elementary Education.  While at Maryland, Jamie was the starting goalkeeper for the women's lacrosse team.  She won three National Championships and was selected as an All-American twice.  Upon graduation, Jamie earned a Master's in Education from Fairleigh Dickinson University while working as an assistant coach for the Drew University Women's Lacrosse Team.  In 1999 she began teaching 5th grade math and science at Jefferson Elementary School in Maplewood and working in Hoboken as a real estate professional throughout the summers.
